A Robot Costume {Upcycled}

Yesterday I shared little Tate's flower pot costume and today I can't wait to share Luke's upcycled robot costume.

Luke had such a hard time deciding what he should be this year but we finally settled on a robot.  I love this costume because I didn't spend a cent on it!  I made it entirely from things we had around the house.

It would be better if he had pulled his robot legs up a bit higher {smile} but he looked pretty cute.  And he won first place for his age group at our neighborhood festival!

I made the costume with cardboard boxes covered in metallic silver duct tape and I embellished them with various things I dug up in my garage.

The dials were simple but fun ... and piles of kids at the festival turned the lightswitch on and off.  Over and over.  And over.

The robot costume was so simple but I really loved the fact that I made the entire thing for free.  Not bad for something he'll only wear twice.
