My little girls have been spending lots of time drawing on the new washi tape chalk board in their room. I love the way it turned out and, with all the great washi tape patterns available, you could make a chalk board to match every room!
I used an old frame that a friend was getting rid of and spray painted it antique white then rubbed some stain into it to give it a bit of an aged look.
I covered the original glass with alternating strips of washi tape in coordinating colors ...
... then painted over the washi tape with clear chalkboard coating.
I saw this chalkboard coating {made by DecoArt} on another blog and I couldn't wait to try it. I think it's so neat that you can turn any surface into a chalkboard. Imagine the possibilities!

I let it cure for a day then seasoned it by coloring over it with chalk before I wrote on the board.
The chalkboard is so cute in my little girls' room and they love coloring on it. I'm trying to remember to leave them sweet little notes as well.

Great idea and a great product. The possibilities really are endless.
