Saying Goodbye to Kindergarten

Today is Luke and Lila's last day of kindergarten.  It's hard to believe that a full school year has passed since I dropped them off for their first day {and shed a few tears on the way home}.

We celebrated kindergarten graduation last week and yesterday we had an end-of-year class party.

I brought a cake {inspiration found here} with all of Luke and Lila's classmates on it.  I used a store bought cake {to meet the school requirements} and embellished it {our awesome principal approved the homemade touches}.

I used white and brown candy wafers/melts for the faces and red candy wafers and a mold {found at Amazon ... see the link at the end of this post} for the graduation caps then piped on faces, hair, and names with icing.  It turned out really cute and the kids loved eating their personal slices of cake.

Luke and Lila gave a little summer gift to their classmates {inspiration found here and free printable found here}.

And my soon-to-be first graders came home with a fun memento from kindergarten .... the kids all signed each other's shirts as a special keepsake.

Of course, I had to break out the Silhouette and label Luke and Lila's shirts with a little heat transfer.

It was a great year and the twins were so blessed to have an experienced, nurturing teacher who loves what she does.

Now onto a relaxing, fun summer!
