April Fool's Day Pranks

I love playing tricks on my kids on April Fool's Day.  The older kids are totally on to me and start expecting stuff from the minute they wake up but the younger kids are still free game.

This year I'm definitely putting nailpolish on the soap.  This post at Lady-Create-a-Lot has a lot of great pranks and I might be incorporating a few others into our day!

In past years, I've served jello disguised as kool-aid and scared Phil with a parking ticket ...

... served Eli tea made from a gravy teabag ...

... made ostrich eggs and faux french fries ...

... and served pound cake grilled cheese sandwiches.

We've also stuffed shoes with newspapers and pulled off a handful of other tricks all in the name of good, clean fun.

I'd love to hear about your favorite tricks ... leave me a comment and let me know how you've tricked your family or what you plan to do this year.

  2. i once tried to play a trick on my niece and nephew for april fool's day, but my brother ruined it. i dropped blue food coloring in the milk and instead of my brother going along with the prank, he threw it out?! hello!! ruined! my dad once pretended like he cut his hand really badly and had fake blood in a napkin and came running in the house! he's fun like that! now you have me thinking, about what i should do this year!? i love a good joke!

  4. We froze our kids (clean!) underpants in the freezer the night before. When we got them out - they were solid and flat - you should have seen them trying to peel them apart to get them on! They were really torn between following directions and disobeying! Of course - they were only 3 or 4 at the time.

  6. I once 'cured' my son of his habit of leaving the tiniest bit of ice cream in the container. In an empty carton I put a bit of water and let it freeze. The next time he went for a treat he opened it to find nothing but ice ;O) We had a good laugh and he never forgot it.

  7. Here's three awesome pramks to pull on your kids:
    1) Put tape on your faucet Result: Water sprays EVERYWHERE!!!
    2) If your kids keep their toothbrushes in a jar, pour water in the jar then freze it. Result: Your kids can't get their brushes out.
    3) Switch all of your cereal bags and see how long it takes them to find the right kind of cereal they wee looking for!!!
