A Love Mug {Made with Sharpies}

I saw the cutest Valentine's Day love mug in Starbucks the other day and I came home with plans to make my own.  This mug was so quick and simple to make and I love the way it turned out!

I used the Sharpie technique to make this mug rather than a porcelain pen like I used for my tea cup.  I've heard this technique won't be dishwasher safe so I'll stick to hand-washing this mug rather than risk losing the design.

To make the love mug, I used a plain white mug {this particular mug came from Target} and vinyl stencils cut on my Silhouette.

I applied the stencils tightly to the mug and colored the spaces in with Sharpies, red for the front ampersand ...

I baked the mug at 350 degrees for 30 minutes and then let it cool completely.  Isn't it cute?  It would make a great Valentine's Day gift or anniversary gift!

Have you tried the Sharpie technique?  What did you think?
