I love pumpkin and I love chai so when I saw this pumpkin chai tea recipe from Barns and Noodles, I was completely inspired. I decided to make a few changes and make my own pumpkin chai tea latte.
I changed the spices to give the drink more of a chai flair. I wrapped some spices in muslin: a cinnamon stick {broken in half}, ten whole cloves, ten whole allspice, five peppercorns, and a quarter teaspoon of ground cardamom.
I steeped the muslin spice pack in two cups of boiling water, along with three tea bags.
When the tea had steeped for about ten minutes, I removed the tea bags and the muslin spice pack and poured the tea into two cups of milk. I heated it on the stove over low heat and whisked in four tablespoons canned pumpkin, two teaspoons vanilla, and two tablespoons sugar {I don't like really sweet drinks but you could add more sugar as desired}.
This pumpkin chai tea was delicious and perfect for fall!
