A Kleenex Moment with My Little Athlete

a Kleenex moment with my little athlete

We watch a lot of kids' sports in our house.  We have five kids and the four older ones all play at least one sport.  I've watched my kiddos play basketball, tennis, soccer, volleyball, baseball, hockey, and football.

I could live without ever watching professional sports but I love watching my kids play.  Over the years, they've learned so many life lessons through their sports experiences.

And my Mommy heart has been tugged many times.  Most recently, the heart tugging has come through watching my little guy's soccer team.  They've faced tough opponents and have had loss after loss.  It's not all about the win but constant losses are defeating.

A couple of weeks ago, we finally won!

As the boys scored first one goal and then another followed by one more, the realization hit that we would win our first game of the season!  It was a Kleenex moment ... my eyes filled up with tears as I watched the boys get their first taste of success.

It's been so fun watching these little guys move along on this soccer journey and I look forward to seeing what they'll learn through both the wins and the losses.

  6. Great shot! I'm with you! Jacob's team lost all season til the last 3 games, then they went to the finals and pulled out a miraculous 2nd place win! It was amazing and such a demonstration of perserverance for them (and the coach ;)
