Last night was a fun family Saturday night at our house. We had a Hasbro game night, ate some finger food, and topped it off with ice cream ... after a busy week we needed that kind of family time!
Earlier in the week I grabbed the twins from school and went to Walmart to get some supplies for our family night. You can see that shopping trip here.
We haven't bought a new game for a long time so we decided to grab one that all the younger kids could play. Hungry Hungry Hippos won out! Luke, Lila, and Tate had such a great time smashing those hippos and catching marbles. I have a feeling they'll be playing this game a lot in the days ahead!
You can't have family game night without fun food so once a number of rounds had been played, I served a snack-style dinner in muffins tins {my little kids love eating their food divided in tins}. Sticking with our game night theme, I also used the {very wrinkled} Twister mat as a tablecloth. {Any ideas how I can get rid of the wrinkles in that plastic mat?}
We had Tyson Chicken Nuggets, Ore-Ida Golden Crinkles French Fries, and Heinz Ketchup for dipping {what kid doesn't love to dip their food in something yummy?} along with some grapes to balance it out. It was a #DipDipHooray kind of night! I love to have simple meal solutions in the freezer for nights like this.
After we ate, we continued the fun by entering the UPC codes from the ketchup, nuggets,and fries onto the DipToPlay.com sweepstakes site to unlock some online games.
This week's game is Jenga, a game we love. Playing a few rounds of that was a great way to end our family game night.
Have you entered the DipToPlay sweepstakes? You can find the information at DipToPlay.com and the rules can be found here.

Looks like such a fun time! My son loved Hungry Hippos when he was younger! Angie xo
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun night. We haven't played Hungry Hippo before and I think my kids would love it.
ReplyDeleteI love the "serving plates" so creative
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love the idea of the muffin tins but am even more in love with the idea of using the Twister 'board' as a table cloth!
