Celebrating with Frosting Creations

We've had some big things worth celebrating in the last week or so.  Kennedy made the volleyball team and Eli made the first cut for the basketball team {the next cut won't take place until sometime in October}.  They've both been training hard and we're really proud of them.

Big accomplishments call for yummy celebrations, right?

I went to Target and bought the goods for some delicious cupcakes: cake mix, Frosting Creations starter, and two mix-in flavors.  You can see my shopping trip here.

I love cake and frosting made from scratch but sometimes life is just too busy for homemade.  Frosting Creations are kind of a happy medium for me ... fun flavors and fun colors without the homemade hassle.  And there's lots of room for creativity.  I love the idea of using one flavor in the middle of a layered cake and frosting the outside of the cake with another complimentary flavor.  Wouldn't that be good?

Frosting Creations are really quick and easy to use.  You make a hole in the middle of the frosting ...

... pour in the flavor packet and stir it up.  I chose bubblegum for the little kids and chocolate almond for the more refined tastebuds in the house.

My kids love frosting so I used this nifty tool to make a hole in the center of the cupcakes and filled it with additional frosting before coating the tops of the cupcakes.  Finding the center full of frosting is a fun surprise!

The Frosting Creations flavors are bold and true and really delicious. The bubblegum even smells like someone's about to blow a big bubble right next to you.

I loved celebrating my athletes and I loved the ease of making a special treat with really unique flavors.  Mocha frosting is definitely next!
