Do you have first day of school traditions?
I love the first day of school! It feels like such a fresh start. We always take photos before school and we always have a special cake or treat {you can see past first day treats here and here}.
I love to capture these special times because I know how fleeting they are. This year I'll have a freshman, an eighth grader, two first graders, and a little one at home. I remember vividly when that freshman was just a bitty boy heading off to kindergarten and I'm so glad I have photos of all the firsts.
One year we also celebrated with Schultuete, a German tradition. My first graders will be celebrating that way again this year, thanks to KinderCones! Luke and Lila have no idea, but on the first day of school, they'll find these fun cones hanging from their chairs at the breakfast table.
These cones {the first grade edition} are filled with fun treats: pencils, tattoos, a journal {I love this special keepsake!}, and Karli the Cat with her little satchel. You could even add some candy or something personal if you wanted. Isn't that a fun way to start a new school year?
Vivian at KinderCones also sent us the artist edition cone. I'll let all my kids share the brilliant watercolors and brushes in this edition {and I think I'll have to have a turn as well!}. The little journal/sketchbook will be a great place to keep some of the kids' work.
These cones are such a fun way to make the first day of school memorable and to add some celebration to the moment.
I received complimentary KinderCones to review for this post. All photos and opinions are my own.

That is a sweet gift and memory for the kids. We don't have any first day traditions. Thankfully my kids don't know what they are missing!
