An Olympic Games Viewing Party #TCBYGrocery #CBias

Have you been watching the Olympic Games?  It's been on around our house, day and night.  I have some serious Olympic fans in the house.

A little vintage Olympics story: I was raised in Calgary, Alberta, home of the 1988 Winter Olympics.  We could see one of the main ski hills from my front window and I attended a few Olympic events {remember Eddie the Eagle?}.  I went over to my parents' house to find a photo to post here but apparently my Mom only took five pictures in 1988 and the Olympics didn't make the cut.

Back to the 2012 Olympic Games.  We decided to increase the family fun and have an Olympic Games viewing party.  A frozen yogurt sundae bar sounded like the perfect party treat.

Ten points and a gold medal if you can tell me what's wrong with the above photo {and really, all the photos in this post}.  Not sure?  Keep reading.

Eli and I went to Walmart to get some TCBY frozen yogurt for our sundaes {you can see more of that shopping trip in my Google+ album here.}  Have you tried TCBY frozen yogurt yet?  It's delicious!

We also bought candies and syrup in the Olympic ring colors and set up a little dessert bar.

It was really simple but fun.  Plastic spoons decorated with washi tape, waffle cone bowls ...

... a little banner, and some colorful toppings.  {Have you figured out what's wrong yet?}

The star of the bar was TCBY frozen yogurt in two flavors, Supreme Cookies and Cream and Classic Vanilla Bean.

We turned on some DVR'd Olympic events and the kids even put on shirts in the Olympic ring colors.  They're such good sports!

I like my frozen yogurt without anything on it {it's so creamy that it's perfect all by itself} ...

... but the kids covered their sundaes with lots of brightly colored toppings.  Festive, no?

What are your favorite Olympic events?  Have you been glued to the TV?  {and did you figure out the problem with my photos?  I mixed up the order of the rings .... aargh!  Did you notice?}

  1. I thought the rings looked different, but couldn't figure out what way they were supposed to be.

  2. Fun party! You have some great ideas! I might have a book kicking around from the '88 Olympics. I'll have to check and pass it on to you. We haven't had the Olympics on once. Although, we are on holidays without cable or satellite. Maybe we would have turned it on.
