Design-a-Feeder {a Review}

If you've been around this blog for a while, you've seen that I've been testing different birdfeeders every month. {The number of birds visitng our yard has done some serious growing!  Between the birdfeeders and all the spilled goldfish, this is a popular place to hang.}  This month, rather than just receiving a pre-made birdfeeder in the mail, I got to design my own hummingbird feeder.  Designing my own feeder definitely appealed to my crafty side.

The process is very simple.  Start on the Perky-Pet website and click on the Design-A-Feeder tab.  The site walks you through each brief step.  You choose the main body of the hummingbird feeder ...

... with vines or other embellishments, and then you choose your flowers.  There are lots of color and flower choices available.

In the end {I apologize to the creative masses}, I ended up going pretty simple.  Pretty standard.

I chose a squat red feeder with white flowers.  I know, I know, it's very run-of-the-mill but I've had some difficulty attracting hummingbirds around my house so I went with tried and true.

My feeder is hanging among the crepe myrtles and I've been watching for those elusive hummingbirds.  Surely they'll be drawn in by this feeder, right?

What kind of feeder would you design?  Do you think it would make a fun gift?
