My younger kids love drawing and cutting and writing and using up a lot of paper.
And I encourage them to draw and cut and write. And use a little less paper.
I saw these single page mini notebooks on Pinterest {check out my Keeping Kids Busy board} and knew my twins would love them. They're just right for little nature journals and it's a great way to encourage kids to keep writing over the summer.
They're also super easy to make with one scissor cut and a few folds {the Pinterest photo shows each step ... unfortunately it doesn't link to a full tutorial}.
We added a little treasure pocket to the front.
Luke and Lila have been filling the pages with drawings of things they find outside. I've encouraged them to write about their pictures and find treasures for the tiny pocket. Luke said he'll probably put a lizard tail in his.

If you like what you see, would you consider following me?

Cute idea. I usually pick up a curriculum book for each kid. The girls devour them and then move on to Victor's. He usually leaves then untouched. :) A journal might work for him.
ReplyDeleteI love the lizard tail idea from Luke! Wonder what sweet Lila will find for her pocket?
