Crafting Summer Memory Albums #CBias

We're in full summer mode here and summertime means more time to craft with the kids.  I've been spending too much time on Pinterest, pinning some fun project ideas and this memory album caught my eye.  We have an upcoming beach trip planned and I thought it might be fun to make keepsake memory albums with the younger kids.

I packed the three littles into the car and we hit the road in search of Elmer's products.  You can see our shopping adventure here.

Once home, I put out a pile of Elmer's craft supplies {note the large number of glittery items ... you can tell the kids were involved in the decision making!} and some other scrapbook supplies that I had and we got busy.

I pieced together little albums for the kids by attaching blank cards together, punching holes down the spines, and tying a ribbon through them.  It was so simple and made a really cute little album.

Tate got busy with the Glitter Colors ...

... while Luke and Lila went to work on their albums.  This was one of the most fun projects we've done together.  Everyone was involved in the brainstorming and Luke and Lila really did all the work themselves.  Elmer's products are so kid-friendly ... they're easy to squeeze, easy to spread, easy to write with.  They make the crafting experience really enjoyable.

The result was a super cute, personalized album that will go on vacation with us.

Each page has been designated for something: a little pocket for a tiny shell, a page for a photo or a description of something they ate, a spot to journal a favorite memory.  I really love their little books!  I also love that we had so much fun making them and now the kids can look forward to more fun filling them up.

What summer crafting have you been doing?

  1. I really love this idea. We will be doing something similar when we head to the lake this year. It's fun when the kids are old enough to start making their own things. Our summer started on Friday and the kids already have their journals. First day, Victor and Anastasia held a snake, tarantula, and a scorpion, and I forgot my camera. Great start to the summer!

  3. Love the glitter! Yes, my kids helped me on our craft project this weekend and I was looking for those pens and glues. We had to settle for glitter spray paint. Love the books! Great job.
