You know how I like to get things done before company arrives?
Well, apparently I also like to get things done while company's here. And put them to work.
The slow-but-in-progress kitchen improvement got another step closer this week with the addition of a new oven.
And my brother helped install it. We wanted him to feel useful, you know?
The old oven won't be missed. The door hasn't closed properly for years and had to be held closed with a chair. The crazy thing? It really didn't bother me that much. It's amazing what you can get used to.
I'm super excited about the new oven though.
Next on the kitchen improvement list? A new stovetop {the final appliance to be replaced} and hood, new counters, and a new backsplash. It's coming together, one step at a time.
It's beautiful! You must be super-excited. I had to chuckle that you got used to the chair in front of the oven... I have a few household quirks too - you just do it and don't realize how silly things can get until you no longer have to do it.

It's beautiful. Our oven door doesn't close either. I have to use the self cleaning lock and just make sure the lock isn't tight. The broiler also broke last month. I miss the broiler but the oven door doesn't really bother me either. :) Knowing our oven doors were similar makes me feel a little closer to you. Cheesy!
ReplyDeleteIt's amazing what we learn to put up with. Your new oven not only functions the right way, but it looks gorgeous too. Good for you with getting something major like that crossed off your list:-)
ReplyDeleteThat is a nice looking oven! I hope you will be sharing lots of recipes with us soon!
