Hot Cocoa with Friends

Update:  You can watch a video demonstration here to see how to make the cups as well as some fun marshmallow snowmen!

It doesn't feel much like winter here in Texas but we had a little hot cocoa get together with friends anyway.

Often, the simplest of gatherings are my favorite.  A few planned but simply executed details and time with friends are a lovely combination.

For Monday's hot cocoa party, simple was the key.

Packages of store bought hot cocoa mix ...

... dishes of marshmallows ...

... crushed mints ...

... and mini chocolate chips ...

... with two flavors of whipped cream and styrofoam cups edged in white chocolate and sprinkles.  Even better?  These red and white sprinkles had a peppermint flavor.  Perfect for cocoa.

I hope your long weekend brought simple, delightful gatherings with friends as well.

  2. That is a great idea. I love the sprinkles around the edge of the cup. I suppose one could use colored sugar as well. Peppermint and Elisha do not go well together. Oh the drama... lol!

Have a great day down there in Texas!

  5. What a good idea to put white chocolate around the cups first. That way the sprinkles adhere way better! Very cool!
