I shared this simple neighbor gift a week ago at The CSI Project and thought I'd repost it here for those that missed it.
We always take a little homemade treat to our neighbors at Christmas time and I like something that's cute but easy to throw together. This year I delivered cute containers filled with snack mix. The labels pull it all together.
You'll need five ingredients for the mix: rice chex {if you're cheap like I am, the store brand is great}, mini marshmallows, jumbo chocolate chips or chunks, mini oreos, and mint M&M's.
Mix together 6 cups rice chex, 1 1/2 cups mini marshmallows, 1 1/2 cups mini oreos, 1 cup jumbo chocolate chips, and 1 cup mint M&M's. Doesn't it look festive?
To package the mix, shop around for some cute containers. Target always has fun little seasonal tins and cans and I found these clear containers in the Dollar Spot this year.
You can make your own tags or print these ones {download here}.
Stick the labels to the side of the container, wrap in red and white twine, and there you go ... a simple treat for the neighbors!
Do you take gifts to your neighbors?

Cute gift! We don't give gifts to the neighbours. I love giving gifts but John, not so much! :)
ReplyDeleteWon't you please, won't you please, please won't you be my neighbor?
ReplyDeleteSo wonderful, Randi!!! We haven't taken gifts to the neighbors in the past (only because things we've planned to do have been set on the back burner & then, eventually, forgotten about...bad, Maggie...bad, bad, bad Maggie)...but I think we are going to start...with this! I have some of those containers from Target, too!!! And I love that this is something the kids can do completely on their own...;)
ReplyDeleteSo fun and cute!
