A Party Dress

Since Tate will change out of her party swimsuit to sit inside and eat cake, I had to make her a little dress to wear as well.

The party colors were inspired by this beach ball and I found fabric that was a perfect match.

I love this dress but didn't want to buy another pattern so I revamped a dress pattern I already had.  I reused this pattern {Simplicity 5695} but removed the bottom ruffle and lengthened the dress ...

... then added a contrasting raggy-edged piece of fabric down the center.

Simple and cute and she'll wear it over and over again ... after the big birthday party, of course.

  3. Oh to have a girl to make dresses for! Great job and I love the idea of making something for a certain occasion that can be used throughout the year.
