A Lego Wall for Luke

I think I spend a lot of time these days figuring out how to copy things I see on Pinterest.  When I saw a neat Lego wall, I was determined to do something similar in Luke's room.

This was such an easy project.  The hardest part was spelling out his name with mini Lego pieces!  I used eight 32x32 green base plates and glued them to a wall inside Luke's closet.  Since he already has a Lego table in his room, doing it in the closet seemed like a good way to corral the mess ... and there's lots of unused space in there.

Since it's in the closet it's a bit hard to get a decent photo without a flash but I tried.

Luke thinks it's awesome and he was building away as soon as it went up ... still in his Christmas pajamas (actually, Lila's Christmas pajamas ... from 2008}.

Luke spends hours building with Lego and I'm sure this will just increase the fun.  Gotta love Pinterest inspiration!

  2. Did you glue the name at the top? I love it! My daughter is only one, but I'm going to start saving Lego's 'cause you can never have too many.:) I'm a new follower from CRAFT.:)

  3. Love this. Thinking about doing a whole wall like this and the opposite wall in blackboard paint. With 9 kids to raise, they should have something fun to play with!

  4. How did you fasten the baseplates to the wall? Is it still holding up well?

    1. This is probably crazy but I just used a hot glue gun. The plates get a lot of tugging and pulling and they've never come loose. E6000 would probably also work well.
