A Rescued Vintage Wagon

Twice a month our neighborhood has bulk trash day.  I love to scan the curbs when I'm out driving, just in case I come across a great find.  This week did not disappoint.

This old vintage wagon was sitting on the curb, just waiting to be rescued.

The bottom needs to be replaced  but the rest of it is in great shape.

I absolutely love the removable sides.  It reminds me of the wagon we had at my grandfather's house when I was growing up.

I'll replace the bottom and then decide whether to paint the sides or leave them in the original distressed red.

I'm envisioning this wagon holding drinks at parties or storing books in our gameroom.  I love my awesome bulk trash find!

  1. It looks like it's in really good shape apart from the bottom. I can't wait to see what you do with it.

  4. I remember a similar one from when I was little - the removable sides brought it all back. My dad used to wheel us over to my grandmother's apartment in the Bronx for Sunday dinner. Wow... hadn't thought about that in years!

  5. Great find. I saw one in a book one time with a wooden top on it and they used it as an outdoor coffee table.
