Mint Soap

With my mint growing at the speed of light, I've been on the lookout for new ways to use it as well as ways to use my other herbs.

The April 2011 issue of Martha Stewart Living couldn't have been more timely.  Not only does it contain a pile of recipes that use fresh herbs but it also had a great article about soaps made with various herbs and fruits.

This morning I picked some mint, pureed it, and made a batch of mint soap.  It was super simple and quick to make {just a matter of adding pureed mint to melted glycerin soap and allowing it to set}.  I used a floral muffin mold to make cute shapes.

I think these will make such cute {and fragrant} gifts, packaged up in clear cellophane with a coordinating ribbon.  And if my mint plants keep growing at the current rate, everyone I know will be getting some.
