When I saw the adorable knit headbands at Never Not Knitting, I added the idea to my never-ending project list.
I don't have the published pattern so I just made up my own little pattern. I used a much chunkier yarn and I'd love to try it again with a lighter weight, more delicate yarn {like the original}. I knit a straight piece, in garter stitch, for the main band and attached three little rosettes. {The girls may end up with a pile of similar headbands since this is such a great way to use all those leftover bits of yarn.}
I didn't want the band to tie at the base since those always end up coming untied so, after measuring Lila's head, I looped some elastic through the ends of the band and sewed them together with a zig-zag stitch, adding a little Fray Check so the ends won't unravel.
Lila loves the headband and wore it all morning ... the sign of knitting success.

Way to work with your Mama Lila.
