Back in October, I was driving Kennedy to a birthday party when we passed a daycare and caught a glimpse of furniture in the dumpster. We circled around and Kennedy went dumpster diving {with a bit of encouragement from me} and retrieved two little IKEA chairs. The seats had come off and the chairs were in need of a bit of repair but I thought they were worth rescuing.
After a few screws, a little Gorilla Glue, a few coats of brown spray paint {a few touch-ups after seeing this photo}, and some vinyl numbers {thank you, Silhouette}, they'll make great TV-watching chairs for the little ones.
I'm so pleased with my Kennedy's first dumpster diving experience.

Oh how sweet! I want numbered chairs, too. :-) Great project.

Fabulous makeover!!! Love the numbers. I can't believe they would toss those chairs instead of Freecycling them or even donating. Oh well. Their loss is your gain. Great job!! ReplyDeleteSilly question probably but how is the Silhouette different from a Cricut etc? I don't have anything like this but looks so cool!
