This morning we braved the heat (and just barely survived) to go to Zoofari Days at the Dallas Zoo. [With five kids, I love to take advantage of free or discounted admission.] I was really looking forward to seeing the new Giants of the Savanna exhibit and it didn't disappoint. We spent most of our time in that area and then headed home to bask in the air conditioning.
The best part of the new exhibit was seeing the animals right up close. This gorilla was leaning against the glass right in front of us, casually eating breakfast. Tate barked when she saw him.
The lions were amazing and one was so interactive. She'd touch her paw to the glass and just stare at the kids. We even watched her leap toward the window at a lady. I like to think she was just playing and not planning her next meal.
Even the giraffes were extra friendly, coming up to say hello. Luke got reprimanded for petting one. How can you resist petting a giraffe when he's mere inches from your face? He gave Luke a nice friendly lick.

Kennedy is totally right! I love the zoo too!
ReplyDeleteYou are one brave woman - in that heat! But what a fun time with the animals being so close.
ReplyDeleteI love that Tate barked. Ha!
ReplyDeleteThat lioness is really giving Luke the eye!
ReplyDeleteThose lion pics - nothing but glass between them - are wonderful!
